I don't mind having a good debate on a controversial topic. I actually enjoy it. However, what I don't like is people just stubbornly sticking to their points with no justification and petty name-calling. It's just too bad that's what usually happens.

You did well there, most people actually had some good points on either side. It was just the 'combat tested vet' that was being arrogant, wanting to live out his action hero fantasies. If he truly is combat tested i'd assume that his attitude got a few comrades killed.
